Teachers Convention
February 11 & 12, 2010

Calvary Chapel Education Association is proud to announce their second annual West Coast Teachers Convention, February 11 & 12, 2010. The theme for our convention this year is Psalm 51:10-13 “Repent, Revive, Restore, Refill, Ready” (The 5 R’s of Christian Education).

We are excited about what God is doing in our Christian Schools. Although we are facing many challenges this year we know that if we continue to fellowship together we can, as a body, overcome all obstacles. We are here to help one another and to strengthen the body of believers and especially Calvary Chapel Schools.

Our keynote speakers this year are Mark Hamby from Lamplighter Publishing and Chapin Marsh, President of Calvary Chapel University. We will be featuring the students of Calvary Chapel schools. We will have performances by High School Worship Groups, Choirs, and Bands. Students of CCHS Downey’s Culinary Arts Department will furnish the Continental Breakfast.

We will be having workshops for Elementary, Jr. High and Sr. High School teachers as well as for Administrators, Home School Families and Public School Teachers. The wide variety of offerings will have something for everyone.

For more details about the convention or to register online please visit:

The Lord has been moving things and people (perhaps you too) around at Calvary Chapel University these past few months. Since we know the Lord loves us and has “created these works beforehand that we might walk in them,” our job is simply to abide. Abiding in Jesus is tricky though, isn’t it? Abiding in Christ requires a stillness of our faith applied in the midst of difficult or challenging or uncertain times. CCU has just transitioned from it’s birth place at Calvary Chapel San Diego to now being under the guidance and direction of Calvary Chapel Educators Association whose home is at Calvary Chapel Downey. We are thrilled!

We want to welcome you to CCU and our new relationship with CCEA and also our new website. We pray and hope our service to you and your team will be better than in the past. The team God has given us to help manage and grow CCU is double the size of our team only a few months ago. There are many blessings to share with you in the near future. Suffice it to say, if you are going through a time of testing, transition or change, please allow me to encourage you… it will be just fine in the grace of the Lord. May God richly bless you as you noodle through our new web site and explore the wonderful things the Lord has in store for you! Welcome back to CCU!

Love Chapin and your CCU team.

Calvary Chapel Education Association is proud to announce the expansion of and addition to their ministry by acquiring Calvary Chapel University. Calvary Chapel University consists of three colleges; Calvary Chapel Teachers College, Calvary Chapel College of Arts and Science, and Calvary Chapel College of Biblical Leadership. With the inclusion of the University we are looking forward to being able to assist Calvary Chapel Schools and Fellowships in providing educational opportunities for their teachers and staff.

The University will enable those who are pursuing degrees to accomplish their goals through CCEA. Teachers who need continuing education will be able to satisfy the requirements through the University.

We are anticipating that the University Chancellor and staff will remain as we move forward with the operations of this added ministry. CCEA is also in talks to expand our mission in not only providing support to Calvary Chapel Schools, Fellowships and home school families but to provide support and assistance to all institutes of higher learning in the Calvary Chapel system.

The new address for the University is:

Calvary Chapel University
12808 Woodruff Avenue
Downey, California 90242

www.calvarychapeluniversity.com

We here at CCEA look forward to serving you in all your needs.

Calvary Chapel Education Association is an innovative and dynamic association of Calvary Chapel Christian Schools and fellowships across the country and around the world. These include: Calvary Chapel Fellowships, Elementary, Junior and Senior High Schools, home school families, and Calvary Chapel University which includes Calvary Chapel Teachers College, Calvary Chapel College of Biblical Leadership and Calvary Chapel College of Liberal Arts. Our association stretches from Coast to Coast and into Mexico with contact with schools as far away as Hungary.

All CCEA members subscribe to the Calvary Chapel Distinctives and are uniquely Calvary Chapel. CCEA is incorporated as a non-profit religious organization in the State of California. The Corporate Headquarters is located at Calvary Chapel of Downey. As the President of the corporation I work closely with Glen Valuet, Chairman of the Board of Directors to assure that CCEA runs smoothly.

I also serve in the capacity of the Director of Accreditation and Teacher Certification and perform accreditation visits and assist schools that want to be accredited. Sue Hamilton our Administrative Director keeps the office going and organizes our Teacher Convention and Administrator Conferences. Pam O’Malley is the Director of Student Activities and Robert Aguayo is the Director of Overseas Operations. Board members are from New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, California, Missouri, New Mexico, Hawaii and Mexico. Most importantly, Denise Robles at the corporate office answers your questions and keeps us in communication with all of you.

CCEA has doubled in size this year and keeps growing as we seek to serve all of our Calvary Chapel Fellowships no matter where they may be. This year we have attempted to attend the Calvary Chapel Pastor Conferences to get the word out that CCEA is here to help in any way that we can. Whether it is Sunday school curriculum or helping someone obtain their Doctor Degree, CCEA is here to assist in the accomplishment of what the Lord has laid on your heart.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have needs or questions. We are here to help you. CCEA exists to foster Christ-based education at all levels by providing support for Calvary Chapel Schools and students. We are here to provide assistance to all Calvary Chapels throughout the world.

Please take advantage of what we have to offer.

In His Service
